I'm in a bit of a pickle because I have a few textbooks in PDF format which I received from college, but the problem is that they have restrictions on them which prevent me from doing anything except read them (not even print) - and they 'expire' every 24 hours, so I have to log into the library and re-download them everyday. I've tried everything from using ghostscript to convert to ps (it created a pdf with blank pages instead), using calibre with the drm plugin installed, various programs, pdfunlocker, etc - none of which has worked at all. I would appreciate any help as to how I can remove these restrictions so I can study over the hols - thank you. I'd guess it's possible to script it using copy/paste, print-dumps, screen-scraping or even extracting the model from Acrobat's memory. I could probably write something that does any of those but it wouldn't be worth my time unless I was ripping off an entire library. Gimme your library access? Can you copy and paste from the document into Word?

If so it should be possible to use a macro recorder to loop over 'PGDN, CTRL+A, CTRL+C, ALT+TAB, CTRL+V, ALT+TAB' Can you print it, even one page at a time? If so you could add a print server that saves to files, then print them out one by one using a macro like above. If there are restrictions on printing it could be possible to use a VM and skip back in time so it thinks you only printed one page. If all else fails you should be able to screen-print the document by using a macro tool. If you do make a tool to fuck this DRM over then I highly recommend ripping off your entire library using someone else's account. Before going down this path though, maybe Library Genesis already has the files you need.
